“If you are always trying to be normal you will never know how amazing you can be” – Maya Angelou

Allison is a Registered Social Worker, having completed both her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Social Work at Memorial University. Born and raised in Newfoundland and Labrador, Allison has been a registered social worker for more than 14 years.

Allison takes a positive, interactive, personalized, and multi-dimensional approach to counselling, recognizing that every individual comes with their own experiences and needs. She values the importance of a genuine therapeutic relationship and supportive environment as clients navigate life and change.

Before her social work career, Allison served in the Canadian Armed Forces and now enjoys supporting military members, veterans, and their families across a broad range of areas. She has also worked in correctional environments and has a passion for supporting at-risk adolescents, individuals who identify with the LGBTQ2S+ community, and BIPOC communities. During her MSW, Allison studied the importance of culture in practice, specifically exploring and incorporating Afrocentricity when working with individuals experiencing incarceration.
